Static-X is an American industrial metal band.

Biography

Static-X was formed inside 1994 from the ashes of Wayne Static and Ken Jay's former band, Deep Blue Dream. When shopping for members inside Chicago, Static and Jay decided to attend Los Angeles to continue their look for. There it met Tony Campos and Koichi Fukuda, completing the band's original lineup. Static-X signed using Warner Bros Records in early 1998.

A band's debut album, Wisconsin Death Trip, was released March 23, 1999. Notable songs from either a album include "Push It", "I'm With Stupid (He's a Loser)", "Bled For Days", & "Fix." Static-X's touring schedule around trend lines of the album involved 2 Ozzfest stints. A as punishment month saw a release of the little-known EP The Death Trip Continues, and a band contributed a song "Otsegolation" to the PlayStation video game Omega Boost.

Fallowing recording their watch-higher album Machine, guitarist Koichi Fukuda left the b& to spend period by using his personal and pursue more musical chance. Tripp Eisen, formerly of Dope, stepped in when Fukuda's replacement. Machine was freed Could 22, 2001.

Static-X quickly began operate in their third album Shadow Zone, this time by having Eisen perfoming & write of the album. Prior to it began recording, notwithstanding, Ken Jay left a band due to "political differences." Josh Freese of A Perfect Circle was brought in to drum on the album, & Nick Oshiro, formerly of Seether, wwhen later selected as Jay's replacement. Shadow Zone was freed October 7, 2003, and July 20, 2004 saw the release of Beneath... Between... Beyond..., a collection of rarities and demos. Late that season, Wayne did guest vocals on the Skinny Puppy song Use Less.

Shortly fallowing a release of Below... Between... Beyond..., a band commenced act in their quaternary studio album, Start a War. Inside February of 2005, Tripp Eisen was arrested in the sex scandal involving kid, & was fired from either Static-X shortly fallowing. Previous guitar player Koichi Fukuda, who experienced been mixing a freshly album, rejoined Static-X to fill a vacancy left by Eisen. Run the War was discharged June 14, 2005.

Related Artists and Influences

Static-X cite Ministry, Prong, and Type O Negative as major musical influences. It is oftentimes compared to these elastic by fans & critics, along sustaining others like White Zombie, Nine Inch Nails, Fear Factory, Danzig, and Marilyn Manson. Their self-described "evil disco" is according to industrial metal, using heavily overdrive distortion, gothic-like keyboards, pounding bass riffs, and convenient-paced, angry vocals. Songs usually utilize heavily use of synthesizers & insertion of external samples like motion-picture show snipping.
